API keys
API keys let external tools access your Overvy board. You need an API key to use the Overvy agent skill or any other integration that talks to the Overvy API.
Create an API key
Section titled “Create an API key”- Go to Settings > API Keys.
- Enter a name for the key (e.g. “Claude Code” or “CI”).
- Click Create key.
The full API key is displayed once. Copy it immediately. It will not be shown again. After you dismiss the key, only the prefix is visible for identification.
Manage keys
Section titled “Manage keys”The API keys list shows:
- Name: the label you gave the key
- Prefix: the first few characters of the key
- Last used: when the key was last used (or “Never used”)
- Created: when the key was created
Click Delete to revoke a key. Deleted keys stop working immediately.
Security
Section titled “Security”- Keys are hashed before storage. Overvy cannot retrieve a key after creation.
- Use a separate key for each tool or integration so you can revoke them independently.
- Rotate keys if you suspect they have been exposed.
