Promoting & demoting issues
Promoting
Section titled “Promoting”Promoting an issue moves it from the backlog onto the board in the Ready lane. Each issue in the backlog section has a promote button that does this in one click.
Use promoting to signal that an issue is triaged and ready to be worked on. Once promoted, the issue appears as a card on the board.
Demoting
Section titled “Demoting”Demoting removes an issue from the board and sends it back to the backlog. Each issue in the Ready section has a demote button.
Demoting does not close or delete the issue. It just removes it from the board. The issue stays synced and can be promoted again later.
Typical workflow
Section titled “Typical workflow”- Issues arrive in the backlog via sync.
- Review them and reorder by priority.
- Promote the ones that are ready to be worked on.
- On the board, move promoted issues through lanes as work progresses.
- Demote issues that turn out to not be ready yet.
